Mercy and Sage weren't even a bit nervous, even though this is Sage's first school ever! They are both loving the very active teaching style, and Sagey especially loves that even in the middle of winter she doesn't have to wear shoes to school if she doesn't want to!
For us older boys school is very different than it was in the states: no girls, no other Latter-Day Saints, uniforms, houses, headmasters, prefects, etc, but we are getting used to everything pretty quickly. Danny is already practicing with the JV basketball team, and I've met lots of really cool kids and am already the one everyone turns to for help with math :P People are super nice and friendly, and our family is already getting into a regular school routine
I'm digging those socks! Haha
ReplyDeleteHaha! I know right? And I get yelled at if they're not pulled up past mid-calf :P Overall I can't complain much though, it's actually a pretty comfortable uniform.
DeleteSo cool!!! Loving the uniforms. I'm still trying to recruit baritones and basses for Youth Chorus. First rehearsal is Monday! Miss you all!
ReplyDeleteWait. You said houses. What does that mean? Like do you live there? Or different meaning? - Liv
ReplyDeleteBasically they split the whole school into four "houses" for the school competitions. It really is a lot like Harry Potter, other than that they split you up by last name not potential magical ability :) Danny and I are in Barrack House, and then there are three other ones that I can't remember the names for. The one that always wins has all the kids that board at the school. It's totally rigged :D haha!
DeleteOoooo! Harry Potter fans all over the world are sobbing with jeleousy. Or almost. I guess Hogwarts does have girls. Those are some snazzy uniforms!
ReplyDeleteThe first thing I thought when I read this post is that it sounds like you're at Hogwarts. I'm seriously so jealous. Just play quidditch and wear a cloak and you're the real deal. And the people there even have accents. Can I live vicariously through you?
